For a city known for the Calgary Stampede and cowboy culture, we certainly don’t have a lot of country bars at YYC.
Lucky for us, the right people behind a new honky-tonk concept coming to 17th Avenue are helping to change that.
Whiskey Rose Saloon is set to open this fall at 1012 17th Avenue SW, the former home of Italian restaurant Cibo, and it looks like it will be a good time.
âA Calgary bar with a bit of Nashville too,â the Whiskey Rose Saloon Instagram profile read, citing great food, cold beer and live music as the offerings.
The new saloon plans to host a hiring fair from noon to 6 p.m. on August 14-15 and August 21-22 for anyone who wants the chance to be a part of what will undoubtedly be the newest hotspot in Calgary. Interested applicants who can bring âAlberta hospitality homeâ to the joint are encouraged to apply through the Whiskey Rose Saloon website to be scheduled for a meeting during the hire fair.
Whether you like honky-tonk country music or not, this one sounds like it’s worth a visit! We’ll keep you posted as more updates to the Whiskey Rose Saloon arrive.
