Why you need to go: Anyone who watches Food Network Canada may already know chef Massimo Capra, so why not drop by his very own restaurant? Capra’s Kitchen uses local ingredients for its many mouth-watering Italian dishes. Currently, diners can treat themselves to a “one-meal deal” from the restaurant’s take-out menu, where they can choose a salad, pasta and pizza to take home (plus a drool-worthy cheese topped with Oreo crumble and blueberry compote).
Avani Asian Bistro Indian
Cuisine: Indian, Hakka

Why you need to go: Looking for a curry that will warm your belly on a cold day? Avani Asian Indian Bistro is full of all kinds of curries with plenty of vegetarian options too. The resto also offers a variety of Hakka specialties ranging from sizzling tofu to Manchurian whitefish, which is a fried fillet mixed with chilies, ginger, garlic and scallions.

Why you need to go: This family-run restaurant has been a favorite with locals since the late ’80s, when Piatto first opened its doors. Offering daily blackboard specials, Piatto also offers fixed-price seasonal tasting menus. Anyone who considers themselves a mushroom lover should keep their eyes peeled for their mushroom-focused tasting menu that drops in April.
Desi Bar and Grill

Why you need to go: If you’re looking for authentic Indian cuisine, Desi Bar & Grill claims its menu will “take your taste buds away on a trip to India,” but without the sky-high price of a plane ticket. While they serve staples like aromatic biryanis, they also offer unique plates like butter chicken pizza and Paneer Makhani nachos. Yum!

Why you need to go: If you’re looking to try traditional Karahi, which is a style of cooking cooked and served in a thick, deep dish or wok, then add Karahi Boys to the menu!
“You will be drawn in every time by succulent and mouth-watering dishes, freshly prepared tandoori naans and a variety of barbecued meats to appease your appetite,” reads the Karahi Boys website.
The restaurant offers nice offers of sweet dishes that you and your loved ones can also enjoy at home.

Why you need to go: Plaka calls itself “the original Athenian grill,” and their dishes prove it. Try their homemade recipes ranging from classic chicken souvlaki (served on a pita, bun or combo with fries) to a traditional Greek salad. This place is also open for breakfast, and according to their online menu, they serve breaky combos for less than $10.
