The owner of the Bollywood-themed bar and restaurant, Udaya Mogaveera, says: “We had just finalized the design plans and the pandemic hit. So we had to wait. And once the market started to open after the second lockdown, we decided to complete the pending work and finally launch it.
The pandemic has not been kind to the food and beverage industry, but the increase in diners has now been a big relief. And restaurateurs want to take full advantage of it. “Being close to a corporate center means we have several professionals who come here to dine and relax,” says Mogaveera. Targeting those with the luxury of working from home is Paper and Pie in Indiranagar.
“The coffee lounge cafe set up also has conference rooms and podcast rooms that can be used for filming videos,” says co-founder Vamsi Reddy, adding, “The amount paid for these rooms can also be used by food and drink. . It works on a credit system. While the launch of Paper and Pie arrived, Meter Bar, which launches on Bannerghatta Road today, was a strategic move by the owners. “June is also the annual Alcohol Renewal Month, which gives us an advantage,” says Shylendra Kumar, Director of Aventhi Hospitality.
Explaining the ‘drink by the meter’ concept they used, he says: “Once an order is placed and served, an individual meter will begin to track the time. It can be paused when the drink is repeated. The counter starts with a base price of each drink that stays constant for a selected period, then increases by a certain amount after set intervals. Different drinks have different meter rates depending on the MRP of the drink. Jalebbi on Cunningham Road, which launched the last week of May, is a talked-about hotspot in the city.
