Iconic Grand Central Oyster Bar to resume after one year of COVID shutdown

Midtown Manhattan (WABC) – The legendary Grand Central Oyster Bar at Grand Central Terminal announced it will be open to the public on Monday after a year-long COVID-19 shutdown.

The beloved restaurant will reopen on Tuesday, September 7.

The historic seafood restaurant was closed for 11 months on October 12 due to lack of commercial and pedestrian traffic during the pandemic.

The historic restaurant was temporarily closed for just nine days from September 30 to October 9 last year, following the previous closure of nearly seven months due to COVID-19 restrictions imposed by New York State. Resume as a target.

The Oyster Bar is open Monday through Friday, offering full and exclusive menus including full capacity indoor seating, bar and counter service, sociable remote seating (6-legged tables) and dishes from seafood. To do. The Oyster Bar offers both “take out” take-out and delivery services within a 5-block radius.

Safety measures implemented include surface disinfection after all meal services, sealed and packaged utensils, daily deep cleaning of common areas, contactless menus and availability of payments, and with employees. This includes the requirement for customers to wear masks.
