Casual dive bars and pubs in Tri-Cities, Washington

Sometimes you don’t want to go out to a fancy establishment. Dive bars are popular because they’re low-key, cozy, and down-to-earth. If you’re like me and prefer dive bars and mom and pop joints, Tri-Cities can be heaven. Don’t let the phrase “dive bar” mislead you, though. Just because these bars are recognized as dive bars doesn’t mean they’re run down. When I hear dive bar, the first thing that comes to mind is “familiar” or “comfortable”.

Of course my favorite dive bar happens to be the Palm Bar & Grill in Benton City, yes I work there so naturally I’d be biased, but there’s so much about this little bar that I love. For starters, folks. The people are so warm and welcoming, it’s like coming home. Your first visit will attract you for life! The food is comforting and delicious too. It is locally owned by a caring group, Nick, Ron, Kelsi and Colleen, who have put their hearts and souls into the place to make it feel like home and family.

Another of my favorite dive bars is the Jackalope Bar & Grill in Kennewick, for the same reasons! The staff are amazing and so much fun, they also have great food and a cozy atmosphere. When I think of Jackalope Bar & Grill, I think of my favorite movie “Coyote Ugly”.

If you’ve ever visited this bar at night, chances are you’ve seen someone dancing on the bar or table and having a blast. It is definitely a place to visit and the owner, Laurie, takes care of her daughters as if they were her own.

I can’t forget the real The DIVE Bar in Richland! I mean, their name is The DIVE Bar after all! It’s a beautiful little bar, with amazing staff and mouth-watering food. It was actually my first time trying poutine and I’ve been hooked ever since! They also have unforgettable fries and onion rings, the onion rings are homemade with beer batter, they had me beer in my batter! Locally owned by Mike and Dashia Hopp of West Richland, their staff and customers are like family.

It turns out that karaoke is a popular reason why people like to frequent dive bars. Finding the right host and a good system may just mean bar hopping until you find the perfect spot for your performance! Lee’s Tahitian in Richland is a very popular karaoke venue. Larry Lee Ganz, the owner and entertainer of Hilarryous Entertainment hosts shows there, along with other popular dive bars, like Whiskey River Bar & Grill, Beautiful Burbank Tavern in Burbank, and the Tin Hat in Kennewick. You are guaranteed to have a great time with Larry and the singers are always entertaining!

The Tri-Cities offer so many small locally owned and operated bars, these are just a few of my personal favorites. Ice cold beer, or maybe just a soda, a big juicy cheeseburger, local live performers, karaoke and Standard make the perfect dive bar in my mind! We would love to hear from you and what you think makes the perfect dive bar! It’s as easy as sending us a message on our app.

Real Tri-Cities Craigslist Missed Connections

What does a person do if they feel they’ve met their soul mate at the Walmart checkout, but haven’t spoken? They turn to Craigslist Miss Connections, of course. Even if there is a 1 in a million chance, these people in love are desperate to reconnect.
