A Scottish bar hit cheeky customers who ripped a sink from a wall and flooded the ladies’ bathroom.

Staff at the West End Bar in Blantyre were stunned to discover damage to the pub’s toilets by punters on Saturday night.

The alcohol was forced to close early on a busy evening due to the shocking incident which put the ladies’ toilets out of service.

The sink was torn from the wall

Three women, who were in the toilets for about six minutes, are believed to have been involved in the vandalism.

CCTV footage captured the group leaving the bathroom laughing before another customer attempted to use the facilities and alerted bar staff.

Posting the appalling incident on social media, the West End Bar said: “A good night was called short because of the animal, which is really the only way to describe such an individual, who thought that it would be fun to rip the sink off the wall in the ladies, get both sinks out of the unit and leave it there until the place is flooded!

“I’m really sick of people having no respect for property that isn’t theirs…if that’s how you treat other people’s property, I’d hate to see what your house looks like!”

“Apologies to everyone who attended and had to leave early, we really didn’t want to close but we had no choice!

“Until further notice, the ladies will be out of action, the ladies will have to use the accessible toilets at the bar.

“Our amazing plumber will take care of it as soon as possible and we will reopen the toilets once sorted.”

In a later update, the bar said it reviewed CCTV footage and gave the women involved a chance to come forward before reporting the damage to police.
